An increasing number of people do not know how they will get their next meal

124 million people in 51 different countries are facing serious food insecurity - or even worse. Action is needed in order to save lives and decrease hunger and malnutrition, the yearly Global Report on Food Crisis determines.

The number of people world-wide experiencing food insecurity or hunger has increased significantly in 2017 compared to the previous year. According to the yearly Global Report on Food Crisis, the number of people experiencing food insecurity has increased from 108 million people spread across 48 countries in 2016 to 124 million people in 51 countries in 2017.
